It feels like it was Christmas yesterday and now the spring/summer makeup collections are already in stores, how crazy! I especially looked forward to this beautiful collection from Chanel, because I really liked all the shades that they came out with. They are also coming out with a brand new product: lip powder, which made me really excited. In this article I will share all the information about the products from the collection and share the swatches. There will be another article coming up soon with different looks using the products from the Chanel Neapolis Spring / Summer 2018 Makeup Collection.
”For Spring / Summer 2018, Lucia Pica wants to reflect the many faces of Naples, with a seemingly endless array of colors with which to conjure this spectacular city.”
CHANEL – Les 9 Ombres Edition N1 – Affresco – Limited Edition – € 80,00
A palette of nine eyeshadows that play with textures and colours in a range of soft and lively shades. Used as a block colour on the eyelid or as eyeliner along the base of the lashes, on their own or mixed together, the light, nude or pearly shades illuminate and add depth, while the darker shades, from brown to petrol blue, define more intense and mysterious eyes.
The new Les 9 Ombres palette is my favorite eyeshadow palette from Chanel and also my favorite item from this collection! There are 9 shades in total with 3 different finishes: matte, satin and high-shine. I love how they included matte shades as well, in this way you can complete every single look with it. I have made a few looks that I will be showing in an upcoming article, but in this picture below you can see a preview of one of the looks! All of the eyeshadows are really pigmented and super blendable! Since I got it, I often grabbed for it to make a look with it. Definitely my number 1 recommendation!
CHANEL – Ombre Première Cream Eyeshadow – 824 Verderame – Excl. E-boutique – € 34,00
A cream texture that becomes one with the eyelid and dresses the eyes in vibrant, easy-to-blend colour.
Another favorite of mine is the Ombre Première Cream Eyeshadow! I have tried three different shades of the eyeshadows before in this article and I still use these eyshadows on a daily basis. The formula is ultra pigmented and doesn’t crease at all. The new shade Verderame is an exceptional dusty grey-green with a subtle metallic sheen, which looks beautiful worn alone or layered beneath the shadows in the eye palette. I also wore it in the look below!
CHANEL – Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner – 938 – Mare-Chiaro – € 26,00
A waterproof eye pencil that traces intense eyes. Its very long-lasting line resists water, humidity and sebum.
If you wear eyeliner often, then you need to try this one from CHANEL! Not only is it very longwearing and won’t come off all day, but it also comes in beautiful shades. Mare-Chiaro is the perfect green for a colorfull summerlook! Even in combination with the eyeshadows from the Les 9 Ombres palette it will look very beautiful.
CHANEL – Poudres à Lèvres – Lip Balm & Lip Powder Duo – 415 Rosso Parthenope – € 37,00
A playful duo that pairs innovation and sensoriality for buildable makeup intensity. In the black lacquered case, a moisturising balm that glides on with fingertips, to hydrate the lips and allow the powder to adhere while remaining weightless. Ultra-micronized pigments ensure adaptable sophisticated application and a long-wearing result. Limited edition.
For the lips, let start off with a brand new product from CHANEL: the Lip Balm & Lip Powder Duo! I was so excited to try out this product, since it’s something I haven’t seen before in a palette. Very unique. The palette contains a clear, moisturizing balm and a tinted pressed powder pigment. Using your fingertips, first apply the balm to moisturize lips, then pat on the powder using one of the two applicators according to the desire makeup result. I love how it’s a fun product to play around with, you can make a perfect red lip or what Lucia Pica calls ‘a just-kissed mouth’ – a blurred, painterly effect; effortless and alluring. The powder is extremly pigmented, a little goes a long way. Very happy with the result!
CHANEL – Rouge Allure Lipstick – 184 – Incantevole – €37,00
A vibrant and luminous lipstick. An ultra-fine, melt-away and second-skin texture, a palette of intense shades. A bold and daring style. Result: deep, radiant and satiny makeup. Perfect wear from the very first stroke.
Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick – 184 Incantevole
Incantevole is another beautiful raspberry red shade in this collection! I love the formula of the Rouge Allure lipsticks, since it glides on your lips and you only need to apply a thin layer. I can already see myself wearing this on a beautiful summery day with minimal eye make-up!
CHANEL – Rouge Coco Gloss 788 – Parthenope – € 32,00
The exquisite, non-sticky gel texture melts onto the lips in a mouth-watering palette of intense, iridescent, transparent or lacquered shades, from the most transparent to the most high-coverage makeup result.
When I heard that glossy lips were coming back in 2018, I was not excited about it. I like the look of glossy lips, but it always has a very sticky feeling or it made my lips look even more dry. This is the first time I was trying out the Rouge Coco Gloss and I had high expectations since it’s supposed to be very moisturizing with a non-sticky texture. Parthenope is a nude peachy caramel shade with some gold shimmers in it. And I’m not disappointed since I LOVE the formula! It doesn’t feel sticky at all, it looks beautiful on the lips and even after removing it, I feel that my lips are still very soft. Wow! I was very surprised by it and it even made me excited to wear glossy lips again!
Keep an eye out on the second part of this article, where I will be showing you all the different looks that I created with the eyeshadow palette and other products from this collection!
